One -on-One Physical Therapy

I believe in taking a holistic approach to care, with you—the individual—at the center. This philosophy, known as person-centered care, ensures that your unique needs, goals, and circumstances are always the primary focus. Instead of addressing isolated concerns, I aim to explore the lifestyle factors and underlying influences that impact your symptoms and overall well-being.

My ultimate goal is to empower you with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to take charge of your health by fostering self-efficacy and aligning treatment with your personal objectives and unique goals.

Care Focused On You

MY APPROACH

I will begin by asking many questions about your symptoms, such as where they are, how they behave, what kind of activities bring on or ease them, and to what extent this is affecting your sleep, relationships, and day-to-day activities.

This will help me understand what structures may or may not be involved and how this is affecting your quality of life. I am not only concerned with the likely tissues or areas that need to be addressed, but I will also assess what other lifestyle factors may be contributing to your symptoms. These include your sleep hygiene, stress management, nutrition, and exercise routine. This will allow us to work together on a treatment plan and your specific goals.

There are no aides or assistants, you will receive services provided by the same expert physical therapist for your entire rehabilitation, from beginning to end.

Why Cash Pay?

The landscape of physical therapy reimbursement has become increasingly challenging. Over time, insurance companies have significantly reduced the amount they reimburse physical therapists. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) often sets the standard for these reimbursements and continually threatens additional cuts, creating uncertainty for both practitioners and patients.

In our area, where the cost of living is high, these challenges make it difficult for physical therapists to sustain their careers. This has led to a shortage of providers in our community, which can result in longer wait times for initial appointments and fewer available visits.

To stay financially viable, many clinics are forced to make tough decisions, such as shortening visits or relying more heavily on support staff. Unfortunately, this can impact the quality of care patients receive. Insurance companies also play a significant role in dictating care by denying reimbursement for certain treatments, limiting therapy sessions, and sometimes requiring a narrow focus on one body region instead of allowing a holistic approach.

These constraints are why I’ve chosen not to contract with insurance providers. By stepping away from these limitations, I’ve regained the freedom to deliver the highest quality care, tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to ensure that you are at the center of every decision, with a focus on evidence-based, holistic treatment that prioritizes your well-being.

If you have a PPO and physical therapy is covered, you may still be able to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. If you wish to pursue this, I will provide you with a superbill at the end of each month. A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the necessary codes required by insurance companies. You will be responsible for submitting it to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed. On average, insurance providers may cover 60-70% of the cost, though some policies only reimburse as little as 5-10%. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to understand what your specific policy will cover.

Rest assured, I am here to advocate for your health and provide care that empowers you to achieve lasting results. Together, we can focus on what truly matters: helping you reach your goals and improving your quality of life.

  • To make the process easier, you will receive a link via email to complete the intake paperwork from the comfort of your home. This can be done on your phone or computer. If you are unable to do so, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your first visit to complete the forms.

  • Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement, such as gym attire or loose clothing, and clothing that will allow you to expose the area of your complaint. Shorts for lower extremity issues are helpful. For spinal issues sport bras or tank tops for female patients help us visualize and palpate the spine during the exam.

  • Prescription from your healthcare provider if you received one, and any other reports.  If you have braces, splints, or crutches, please bring them as well.

  • During your first appointment a comprehensive evaluation will be performed to establish a course of treatment. The evaluation will be followed by a treatment session. The entire appointment should take about 1.5 hours.

  • No.  On January 1, 2014, a new California law was enacted which allows California consumers direct access to physical therapists. Direct Access is your ability to be evaluated and treated by a licensed Physical Therapist without first seeing your physician for a referral. There are some limits with this legislation:
If direct physical therapy care is to exceed 45 days or 12 visits, whichever comes first, you must be referred (e.g., to a medical doctor) for a medical diagnosis. If you’ve already been referred, please schedule an appointment here.

  • To ensure that you receive the consistent, quality care you deserve, you will be seen by the same expert therapist throughout the course of your treatment.
