DR. ADRIANA P. MESA
Board-Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Fellow Trained in Orthopedic Manual Therapy, Strength + Conditioning Coach, Powerlifter, BJJ Brown Belt, Owner of APM Physical Therapy, Co-Owner of Jiu Jitsu Therapy

Hi, I’m Dr. Adriana Mesa! My journey in physical therapy started in 2009 when I earned my Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University. In 2012, I completed my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the EIM Institute of Health Professions, and I’ve been learning and growing ever since. I recently finished a post-doctorate fellowship in orthopedic and manual physical therapy, focusing on research and education. And since I can’t seem to stay away from school, I’ll be pursuing my functional medicine certification next!
My passion lies in helping people recover from injuries and build strength for a healthier, more active life. Whether it’s orthopedic, post-surgical, or sports-related care, I focus on guiding my patients toward lasting wellness. One of my favorite parts of my practice is teaching others how to lift safely and confidently—whether they’re transitioning from physical therapy, starting their fitness journey, or seeking guidance in nutrition and wellness.
Outside of the clinic, I’m all about strength and movement! I’m a dedicated powerlifter and a Brown Belt in Jiu-Jitsu. As the co-owner of Jiu-Jitsu Therapy, I get to teach Jiu-Jitsu and women’s self-defense classes, which are some of the most rewarding things I do.
When I’m not at work or training, I’m likely lifting weights, tending to my plants, or spending quality time with my husband and our three adorable French Bulldogs. I’m all about living a balanced, active life, and I’d love to help you find your path to strength and wellness too!
PROFESSOR RAUL QUINTERO
Owner of Jiu Jitsu Therapy, Head Instructor, BJJ Black Belt

Hi, I’m Raul Quintero! I’ve been passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for many years and earned my Black Belt in December 2015 under Master Claudio França Pires. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to compete at some incredible events, earning Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals at tournaments like the U.S. Open, Pan-Ams, Master World’s, American Nationals, American Cup, and All-Star tournaments.
Teaching is one of my greatest joys, and for over fifteen years, I’ve been sharing my love for BJJ with the community. Whether it’s working with adults, preparing competitors for tournaments, or teaching kids’ classes, I truly enjoy helping students grow both on and off the mats.
In 2015, I also stepped into the MMA world, making my debut with a win in under a minute using a rear naked choke. I’m hold a 3-1 record, 2 wins by submission.
Whether you’re here to learn self-defense, compete, or simply stay active and have fun, I’m excited to help you on your journey!

Ashoka, a proud native of picturesque Santa Cruz County, has always had a deep love for the outdoors. As a child, he could often be found climbing trees or playing outside with friends, embracing nature and staying active. His passion for movement and adventure led him to discover his first love at the age of 11—martial arts. When his parents enrolled him in judo lessons at a local dojo, Ashoka was instantly hooked, sparking a lifelong journey. Over the years, he’s explored various disciplines, including boxing, capoeira, and judo.
At 15, Ashoka began training Brazilian jiu-jitsu seriously in Santa Cruz, California, dedicating himself to the art. In 2023, his hard work and commitment were rewarded when he earned his black belt under Professor Caio Terra.
Beyond martial arts, Ashoka is a highly qualified NASM-Certified Personal Trainer with extensive experience in both private and collegiate settings. In 2013, he joined the San Jose State University Judo team as their strength coach, where he played an instrumental role in helping them secure three National Collegiate Titles from 2014 to 2016. He also expanded his expertise during an internship at Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning in Boston, MA—recognized as the #1 gym in the USA.
Ashoka takes pride in working with individuals from all backgrounds, helping them achieve their fitness and martial arts goals. His mission is to inspire others through movement, discipline, and the transformative power of training.
